B.Sc. Clinical Psychology (Hons.) – RCI Approved

Programme Overview

The B.Sc. Clinical Psychology (Hons.) is a four-year undergraduate programme approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) framework. It aims to prepare trained frontline mental-health professionals who can work under the supervision of licensed Clinical Psychologists in hospitals, clinics, schools, and community settings.

The programme trains students to understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviour, brain processes, family dynamics, and social environments influence mental health. Students learn concepts related to mental-health promotion, prevention of psychological problems, early identification of concerns, basic assessment, psychoeducation, and psychological first aid. Learning progresses from fundamental courses in general psychology and human development to focused exposure in clinical psychology, counselling skills, and community mental-health services. They also develop basic research skills, enabling them to read, interpret, and conduct small-scale psychological studies.

This programme is particularly meaningful for students who want to work directly with people, support emotional wellbeing, and contribute to reducing stigma around mental health. Graduates become eligible for RCI registration as Clinical Assistant (Clinical Psychology) and can assist in clinical work, community mental-health programmes, psychological screening, and rehabilitation services.
