Programme Overview

Accelerated Masters program, enabling high-achieving students to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree efficiently through a structured International Transfer Program supported by Temple University’s international university tie-ups.

Duration and Structure

The duration of the program is 3+2.
The first three years of the undergraduate degree occur at MRU. At either their junior or senior year of undergraduate study, eligible students after receiving an approval can take sanctioned graduate work. This will count towards the undergraduate and graduate degree. 

After this, the student will transfer to Temple University for approximately two years to fulfill the master's requirements. For many students, they can finish their master’s in one year post-bachelor’s because once students take a grad-level course their final undergraduate year, Temple can grant numerous credits toward their graduate degree. Students are able to accelerate this whole process while creating a smooth transition from undergraduate work to graduate work.

Exit Program

Upon successful completion of all requirements, students  earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in B.Tech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) program from Temple University, USA.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Accelerated Masters programs are to guarantee a pathway for committed students who possess strong scholarly aptitude to excel in. Usually, candidates eligible for admission are those in their third or fourth year of study or have entered into the alumni domain.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or roughly 80% is required. Indian students are exempted from English language requirements such as IELTS or TOEFL. GRE scores are optional for most, although not for all, programs, with Fox School of Business programs being the exceptions. Upon enrollment, these students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while pursuing their coursework at Temple University.

Scholarships

DBMD Students automatically receive merit scholarships each semester, provided they have a minimum GPA of 3.0. These scholarships are typically between 10% to 20% of tuition fees, based on the highest GPA a student earns. There is no other application needed to obtain these scholarships.

Degree Awarded

Students in the Dual Bachelor's Master's Degree (DBMD) program receive their Bachelor’s degree from MRU after completing the undergraduate requirements, and their Master’s degree is awarded by Temple University upon successfully meeting all the master's program requirements. Temple University issues the master's degree after the student completes the graduate-level coursework and other graduation criteria.

Work requirements

For working on campus during the school term, there is a strict 20-hour limit that cannot be waived. During academic breaks and vacations, students may work for up to 40 hours per week. Optional Practical Training (OPT) provides graduates an opportunity to work in the United States for one year after graduation in relation to their course of study. This period may be extended to three years if one is a graduate in any of the STEM fields.
