The M.Sc. Physics with Specialization in Quantum Computing is a two-year postgraduate programme that connects foundational physics with emerging quantum technologies shaping future computing, communication, and security systems. The curriculum goes beyond classical physics and introduces students to quantum algorithms, qubit systems, error correction, cryogenic hardware fundamentals, and computational models that operate beyond the limits of traditional silicon-based processors.
Students begin with a strong grounding in quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, statistical mechanics, and condensed matter before applying these principles in quantum programming labs and simulation environments. They work with quantum development frameworks and cloud platforms such as IBM Q, Google Cirq, and Microsoft Azure Quantum to experiment with algorithms and test real-time quantum circuits.
The programme is suited for learners who want to be part of the second quantum revolution, where quantum computers will impact areas like cryptography, aerospace, drug design, high-precision sensing, finance, and materials science. Through research projects, interdisciplinary coursework, and potential collaborations with advanced computing organizations, candidates develop the scientific and technical expertise required to contribute to quantum research groups, national labs, and next-generation technology companies.
