B.A. Liberal Arts Eligibility Criteria

Pass in 10th and 12th examinations with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in five subjects, including English as a compulsory subject.

Admission Criteria

  • Admission is based on the MRNAT II exam or 12th board results, and competitive exam scores such as CUCET may also be considered.
  • Merit preparation/shortlisting is done on the basis of qualifying exam scores and entrance exam rank.

Nationality

  • Open to both Indian and international students.

Selection Criteria

  • Selection is based on passing score and rank in MRNAT II, 12th marks, and scores in recognized competitive exams

Programme Highlights

Set up as a four-year undergraduate degree following a semester and choice-based credit system, the BA Liberal Arts program allows flexible exit.

After three years—six semesters—students can leave with a BA Liberal Arts degree provided they complete a minimum of 120 credits with majors in a given field.

Four years and minimum of 160 credits yields a BA Liberal Arts (Honours) with majors in a specific field.

Completing a further 12-credit research module entitles one to a BA Liberal Arts (Honours with Research) in that field.

Major and minor specialisations: To be eligible for a major, students have to accumulate at least 64 credits in one field from the third semester forward.

One can pursue a minor degree in another field with option to add more minors outside of the required credits by earning 18 credits within the 120-credit structure.

The curriculum lets students select courses from several departments, so encouraging a broad, multidisciplinary viewpoint and letting them personalise their studies to suit their particular interests and career goals.
